Great food and very nice people! Good place if you have a large group. I love how they are downtown Lubbock away from the South side of Lubbock where most things are. We need more good restaurants downtown!
Pretty great Italian place! Comparable prices to an Olive Garden, but much better. The salad and bread (especially the bread) were very good. I could've done with a little more garlic on the rolls, but that's a minor complaint. The pasta was great as well. Even though the entire meal will end up looking like a lot (which it is) I still wasn't as disturbingly full as I expected. Lastly, the staff was friendly, helpful, and quick.
To start, this was our first time eating here. With all the recommendations and the high praises, we went in excepting a wonderful dinner. It just wasn't up to the standard set forth by so many others. I can't spell nor pronounce the meal I ate; however, the chicken tasted frozen and was way over cooked. I found myself enjoying the mushrooms more than the chicken, and I'm not one that enjoys mushrooms. As for the table and chairs we sat at, they were wiped down, but no where near clean. My wife sat in same thing that stained her pants - this was prior to getting our food, so it wasn't our mess. Overall it was nice food and atmosphere. It it wasn't for that chicken, which was the main protein of the dish and the other issues mentioned, I would have given it a 5. Maybe next time...maybe.
Had a special monthly dinner planned last night with a group of friends. Food was excellent. Wait staff is wonderful and kind. I had veal la cremora - I loved it. We brought our own wine. All in all, an excelent evening. I go often for lunch but not often enough for dinner. I will change that.
Bathroom was spotless and impeccable clean.
The baked ziti lunch special was excellent it came with a salad (basic lettuce with 1tomato and your choice of dressing) and regular roll (not garlic) I was impressed that the roll was fresh from the oven. My guest had spaghetti, stated" It was good and noodles were not over cooked like other places. We both did not care for the cheese cake but both loved the tiramisu. The waitress was okay. The staff helped each other. It would be nice of them to ask before clearing plates. Silverware was clean. Sweet tea was a perfect sweet for me compared to many other restaurants. My guest ask for half sweet and half unsweetened tea and also enjoyed the tea. It was a very quiet place to eat and I enjoyed that a lot. Price was reasonable for portions.
I will be going back in a couple of weeks.
11/7/17 2:37pm-3pm Food was excellent. Service was better this time around. They had lots of to go orders but service time was reasonable wish the other customers waited food is worth the wait. They added music since my last visit which is very nice. Still oven fresh bread totally amazing. It is a cozy, slightly romantic atmosphere. This place is kinda hard to view from the street but worth eating here.
10/23/17 between 1-2pm
