It's an older hotel, but so deserving of an update given how well the staff take care of their guests. We had an overnight stay that was a very pleasant experience. Breakfast the following morning was very good, both pre-cooked and cook to order. I would recommend this Embassy any time you're in Lubbock without a second guess.
Like others said hotel is old & dated. But they totally make up for it with free breakfast and happy hour every day! Legit breakfast with made to order omelets, fresh cooked pancakes and a lot more. Happy hour isn't just beer & wine, but also margaritas and mixed drinks like whiskey & coke. Stuff would cost a ton elsewhere especially if you're travelling with a group...Genius. Also, place is spacious, staff is super friendly, and wife got a great deal on Priceline.
Loved our stay here. Hotel is older and has its share of issues you'll see given the age, but all are minor compared to the positives. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast (bar or cooked to order), and all the conveniences of a 2 room suite. Will stay here again.
This hotel is very old and the room that I stayed in smelled musty and moldy, actually the hallway that it was located in smelled that way. The key card reader on the door was slow and took several swipes to get the door to open (the key card worked fine on exterior doors). When I checked in I was asked for ID, this is not the Hilton policy for a Diamond member, when I asked the desk clerks about it they maintained that they had never heard of this policy (it was later confirmed by one of the hotel Managers). The Manager that confirmed that it was Hiltons policy not to check the ID of Diamond members also let me know that the policy was ignored by this particular property, he was short with me in explaining it and not really very customer centric since I did not see the departure from the Hilton policy in a positive light like he did. I travel frequently and chose the Hilton chain due to their policies, it is frustrating when one of their properties decides to do things their way instead of adhering to the chain policies. It makes me wonder what other policies they have decided to change or ignore. The workspace in the room (the desk) was very poorly lit and made it difficult to see the keys on the laptop due to the nature of the lighting in that area. Overall, based on my experience of being made to feel like a liar by the desk clerks and then being scolded by the manager telling me that what they had decided to do was for my own good, I rate this stay as 1 star. Also there are no outlets or charging ports next the bed, zero, I had to unplug the alarm clock to charge a single device.
I was there for our Geek Squad quarterly training meeting on 10/13/17. We used one of the meeting rooms that was set up and decorated very nice. We were served sandwich fixings, potato salad and great soft cookies for desert. Great experience as always. This was my third time being here for such events.
