3. Money-grubbing. The guy working the counter wouldn't even try to diagnose the problem with my bike unless I paid him $20. Word to the wise: if a mechanic is going to charge you even if he fails to diagnose the problem, there's probably a good reason. Don't walk away: run.
Friendly and knowledgeable. They are flexible and many times have done work for me without charging (if there it something that is easily fixed.) They always go out of their way to find me the best price, and treat their loyal customers right.
I can't recommend this shop for three reasons:
This is my go to bike shop for most of my needs.
Frankly, I think the salesman should go back to the used car dealership where he clearly learned his sales techniques.
2. Complete and total ignorance about how bikes work. The salesman tried to tell me that Shimano and SRAM shifters are interchangeable. If he really thinks that and wasn't just trying to set me up to sell me a shifter I don't need (a real possibility, based on my interactions with him), then he's a fool who knows nothing about his industry.
Amazing customer service this will be my go to shop in the area!
1. Blatant misogyny. They have a whole wall full of male-specific saddles and exactly one female-specific one. Also, the salesman clearly assumed I knew nothing because I have a vagina, and blatantly ignored subsequent evidence to the contrary.
