What a great place! Great video on the history of gliders during WWII, Axis and allies small arms display and lots of exhibits. Also a cool gift store with patches for kids who play console WWII games.
Spent an hour going through this important military museum. I had heard of gliders being used in WWII but learned so much here where pilots trained. Watch the video first and then enjoy the displays, arms, and planes. A very well put together museum.
I truly enjoyed this and the Buddy Holly museum. Toured on the same day, you get a price break on the second.
Small museum that can be gone through in an hour or so. Good artifacts on display. I loved the gliders and the fact you can stick your head inside one. Clean and friendly staff. I highly recommend for your guest, particularly anyone who likes WW2 history or aviation.
Great place to visit! Very special place to spend some time.
Spent two hours recently touring this wonderful museum. Covers a lot of WWII history that most people are not aware of. The museum people were very helpful and we actually found references to my brother-in-law's father who was a glider pilot during the war. Robert Hills participated in Operation Market Garden and he is in their database. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and will eventually bring my B.I.L. back so that he can talk directly with the museum folks. Was able to share some history about how the Steinway Piano Company made glider parts during the war. Well worth the money!
