Dr. Shami is a very busy doctor, I. Was there from 2pm till almost 6 pm. The staff was very knowledgeable and very pleasant. It is my belief being I was referred to him, that he is dedicated to his patients. Sent me for a MRI on my left orbit, to make sure there is nothing hiding back there. Heaven forbid. So far, well pleased with the whole experience is my perspective.
Dr. Shami is very attentive. He is very worth the wait. My husband has been going to him for atleast 7 years. The staff is very professional and caring. You do have a long wait when you go to your appoinment but it is because of all the steps Dr. Shami takes with each of his patients. Usually we start with eyes being dilated, xrays, pictures, then eye exams. If you schedule first thing in the morning, then the wait is not as long. But we usually have ours in the afternoon due to our work schedule, so the wait is at least 2 to 3 hours. Dr. Shami is worth the wait.
The initial wait was only 10 minutes, but once my husband was placed in a room, he waited over 1 hour without being seen by Shami. We decided to leave and Shami miraculosly had time to see him then. My husband expressed his displeasure with Shami being late to which Shami said "I am not late". The 1 o'clock appointment was being seen at 2:30 but Shami insisted he was NOT late. He then said we should be glad he was there then because many of his patients wait up to 4 hours! His condescending attitude did nothing to help. We did ask, if we were to show up at 2 for the 1 o'clock appointment, would we be considered on time? He said, "Of course you would not be on time." I suppose he thinks he is the only important person in the building. I hate to use the word never, but in this situation, I can guarantee, we will NEVER be back. Currently looking into where to turn in this farce of a medicine man. We also noted the number of employees that were either new or leaving. Seems he can't keep his help. Usually a sign of poor management.
