I have only asked for the services of Dr. Gerwig (Sr) and his staff a few times; However, I have chosen their services and identity as my dental care professionals for good reasons that other patients, aswell, may identify with . The location is near home and the office facility is clean and very visually comforting. Reception desk and technicians make every effort to make the patient feel priority 1, at ease, and in the hands of professionals from beginning to exit. The Doctor exudes a caring personable, well educated professional, providing concise evaluation of care needed and answers all questions to the patients' need with no talking down to the patient. Costs are explained and services are agreed upon before commitment is made by patient and Doctor to treatment plans. Excellent providers of dental care and services.
Dental Asst. or Technician Andrea was awesome! She was very friendly and professional; made me feel at ease. She explained all the procedures. The dental Hygienist on the other hand was neither very friendly nor professional. She did not explain any procedures, and was quiet throughout my cleaning. When water was running down my cheek, she did not wipe it off, just continued on. When done, she gave me some tissue to wipe my other cheek but didn't say a word. When she raised the chair she just walked away, not telling me the dentist would be in shortly to talk to me, or anything for that matter! She has very poor customer service skills and the next time I go in for my cleaning I will definitely request a different hygienist. Other than that, the dentist was great!
Apparently, I'd left my nerves and apprehension back home as I arrived at Gerwig Dental for my 10 a.m. appointment. My unbelievably calm, cool demeanor in the moments leading up to my procedure was nothing short of stellar--legendary, even. However, I soon found the composure I exhibited paled in comparison to one, Dr. Chris Gerwig. In less than two days, the weekend would be here, and with the weekend came a full, exhausting schedule full of family activities including church and baseball games. This, as well as the gusty West Texas wind already painting the sky brown on this Thursday morning, would give most any Dental professional more than enough reason to lose focus on the task at hand. Not Gerwig, though. A talent of his caliber comes but once in a great while, and one cannot help but sit in awe at the sheer greatness and perfection of his work. To say that Dr. Gerwig and his staff come highly recommended is grossly understated. I wouldn't and couldn't fathom trusting my dental health to any one but him. Lubbock's mouths are in good hands for the foreseeable future.
I want to give a big shout out to Suzy- she has made the first two trips to the dentist for my 4 year old an absolutely amazing experience!!! Thanks to her, he's not afraid of the dentist, and is super proud of his "perfect" teeth. Both my husband and I also go here, and service has always been great--and fast!! From arrival to departure for a simple cleaning is almost always under an hour, and all the staff is super friendly!
I am EXTREMELY anxious when I have to visit the dentist. But my experience with Gerwig Dental was was exceptional! From the first phone call, to the front desk help as I entered the office, the assistant to the dentist and the dentist himself were beyond gracious to this cowardly patient! i prayed for God to help me find a dentist that would be considerate of my abnormal fear and this is where He sent me! Can't say enough good things about them!
