I can easily say that none of these accomplishments would be possible today without the work of the Lubbock County Drug Court staff and the program they have in place.
I went from constantly being in trouble with law enforcement and the judicial system, barely capable of keeping a job, and alienating myself from all relationships to a recovering individual who makes a difference in the community.
Since graduating from Drug Court I have married a beautiful woman and I am an incredibly involved father of a 3 year old girl and 4 month old boy. I am an active, serving member at Harvest Christian Fellowship. I have partnered to own a sober living community and intensive outpatient treatment program to provide services for men and women all over the region. I have also partnered to own a local brick company that gives back to the community in more ways than one. In addition, I have been a big brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters for a little over 7 years, serve on various non-profit Boards, as well as the City of Lubbock Community Development and Services Board.
I am not embarrassed to say that I am a productive member of society today as a direct result of the Lubbock County Adult Drug Court. I have been clean and sober since August 2, 2006 (a little over 9 years at the time of this writing). I graduated from the program in August of 2007 and my life has been different ever since.
