Pick ups and drop offs are a concern.
Don't really have a problem with the school, just that they don't have a designated drop off zone for the kids, people drop off their kids and have them run across the street I don't really think that's safe and it also slows down everyone else's daily commute to work. Someone should look into the safety of the kids and move the drop off zone.
My 3rd & 1st grader went to this school started in Kindergarten and have had good and bad experiences, Mrs. Woodman was the best teacher any parent could ask for. Me and my husband believe that was the only good advantage we had in the school. Sadly these past couple of months my oldest had been experiencing bullying from an individual which we jumped right on the moment we found out. Got him removed from the same class as the student. Everything was iffy until Friday October 27th, when my son finally decided to defend himself after getting pushed and all of a sudden MRS. STEVENS (THE PRINCIPAL) decides to reach me on Monday and say there was others that witnessed other than my parents, husband and I, that my son was the aggressor so they where going to do a full investigation and suspend my son. Also a Hispanic man that was substituting got involved that he only seen part of the scene decides to eyeball my son every step he took. Yeah i don't think that was definitely not necessary, he then sat the boys down. We as parents took the problem to the office. If the staff knew what they where doing they would know that's only allowing it to continue. Even after me and my husband went to the school as CONCERNED PARENTS and AMY STEVENS THE PRINCIPAL REFUSED TO SPEAK WITH US. When our children do bad we make sure to correct it but if we know and saw for ourselves it was not our sons fault, WE WILL STEP UP AND DEFEND OUR CHILD. This is WRONG and for my son to think he's in trouble for defending himself especially with the STAFF knowing all along bullying was the issue, NO you better believe this is going to get addressed. Obviously BRANDI MCKINNEY & AMY STEVENS are either confused or have not studied the BULLYING POLICY well enough. THEY ARE THE WORST PRINCIPALS I'VE EVER HAD TO MEET. IF THEY ALLOWED BULLYING TO CONTINUE WITH MY CHILD THEY WILL ALLOW IT TO CONTINUE WITH ANY OTHER CHILDREN. We have removed our boys out of the school and will continue to pray and hope this never happens again. I believe the staff could have handled it a totally different way, then this wouldn't be an issue.
