If you are needing anything you think you might be able to find in West Texas as far as alcohol or exotic food items might go. Then this is the place. If you need just regular beer then go to united. It's about as simple as that. This place has a huge selection of liquor but I'm sure their main sellers are limit to about 4-5 per section (ie: vodka, rum, tequila, etc..) Their beer game is not amazing but better than anything else in town. Their wine selection is overwhelming but wine is a racket for those who try to mask their alcohol cravings with some type of veil. Go here when your liquor cabinet needs a restock otherwise stay way cause they demand debit cards for the best prices.
When we ordered kegs for a wedding we specifically asked if they would take back any untapped kegs and they told us yes. Then it comes time to return the untapped kegs and now they are telling us they will only give us money for the shells not the beer inside. What are we suppose to do with 3 kegs? Be out 100's of dollars or end up with hot kegs and the beer will go bad anyways? I would not have done business with Specs if they would have told us the truth and said they won't take the kegs back. Thanks for wasting my money and my time.
This place has a large variety of beers, liquors, wine and a bit more other things. A lot of the beer is refrigerated and I'd have to say, there is far more variety here than I've seen anywhere else in Lubbock. There always seem to be plenty of lines open with no wait to check out and plenty of close parking. Everyone is nice and I can easily find something new to try every time I visit. Even if it wasn't right down the street, it would still be my go-to place for alcohol.
Today was festival day! Lots of tasting. Every thing was so yummy. I wanted to empty the bank account. Foreign and Domestic food, candy, cheese, meats and liquors. They even have a deli and a place to sit and eat your meal. I will return,
Didn't expect to find an in-store humidor, but there it was. Great prices on a good cigar selection. Wide selection of cold, ready-to-go beers. Row after row of spirits. Great prices. Everything I expect from Spec's.
