New to Lubbock, my wife and I visited several churches of different denominations in the area. We were frustrated by a series of "topical" sermons, referencing the Bible but not preaching it. Sitting in the parking lot after one of those experiences I told my wife I just wanted to hear a man preach what God wants us to learn directly from His word, supported and explained by His word, without the interference of contemporary sentiments. The next Sunday we discovered just that at Lake Ridge Baptist where we have been very warmly received since our first visit. The Spirit works mightily through Pastor Turner and the Lord's message is proclaimed loudly and with conviction. If you know the Lord and are looking to be fed on the solid food of the word or if you don't know Him but would like to, Lake Ridge Baptist church offers the truth as God intends it to be taught.
